Is it a migraine or a tension headache?

Hello Everyone! Here’s a little information about tension headaches. I see a lot off people who have gone to the doctor for years, received brain scans and took powerful medications because of debilitating head pain. I mean, “shut-yourself-up-in-a- dark-cold-cave-would-somebody-please-shoot-me-I-think-I-just-threw-up-my-soul” head pain. It’s awful, I speak from experience. I thought it was a migraine, and some of them may have been. But I know for a fact that several of the headaches I had were not caused by the vasodilation that migraines are known for. They were musculoskeletal.

Look familiar? These pain patterns are from Travell and Simon’s Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction Manual.
